How to choose a rhinoplasty surgeon

Specialization, before-and-afters, and the consultation that earns trust.

Rhinoplasty is among the most technically demanding cosmetic operations, and the surgeon's specific experience with the nose, not just plastic surgery in general, is the dominant factor in your result.

Look for a surgeon who performs rhinoplasty frequently, is board-certified, and operates in an accredited facility. Study their before-and-after galleries closely, looking for natural results on noses similar to yours, not just dramatic changes. In the consultation, a good surgeon listens to your goals, examines both the look and the function and breathing of your nose, and is honest about what is achievable on your anatomy and skin thickness, thick skin, for example, limits how much fine definition is possible.

Facial-focused practices tend to document their approach and outcomes transparently; reviewing how a practice presents its credentials and results illustrates the kind of openness worth expecting. A surgeon who tempers your goals with realism and explains their plan in specifics is a better sign than one who promises a particular celebrity's nose.
